i don't care- w-inds. が 好き好き大好き!! currently listening to: Summer Days [w-inds.]
you know, i really hate to admit. but i have to admit.
i really have nothing more to say of tvxq. an attempt to make a comparison with w-inds. only makes me even more sore than i already was.
the stage presence of EVERY member is really so distinct. their dancing is great. their vocals are powerful. their music rings in your head. they look awesome- when it grows on you, it grows on you. they don't act cool like what alot of boybands try to do. their live performances leaves me clapping in front of the computer- imagine if it was live. their fanbase is so huge and resourceful that they will never lack publicity. their teamwork is impressive. their marketing is near flawless. and the thing is that they just get better and better.
hence the addiction.
i'm pretty sure tvxq will rise to become bigger stars than they already are.
many times i find myself blaming vision factory or pony canyon for the lack of publicity and an all-rounded marketing plan for w-inds.- like why must they only follow the 3 singles-1 album-1 tour routine every single year, why they don't promote their album when that's suppose to make the most sales, why they don't go all out to secure publicity to showcase more personality in the members, why won't they try more different genres of music that will actually appeal to the public, why won't they risk trying something new and catch media attention once again, why can't they work on improving the band rather than only thinking of sustaining it?!
yes, i find myself screaming out the last line.
yeah yeah, i kinda understand with all the johnny 'interruptions' and market saturation and all but.... *drones off into silence*
which is precisely why i find it amazing that tvxq was able to break that- better still, as foreigners going into the specialised jpop market. maybe it's because they already had a strong fanbase in asia even before they really started banging on the japanese market. or maybe it's because their presentation was unique. whatever, shall analyse that some other time.
still, i think the biggest key lies in individuality. when you look at tvxq, you don't just look at one member, you look at everybody. again and again your attention will shift from one to the other and the other and the cycle goes on. when you start to get familiar with the story/background of the members, you get even more impressed with them. and when that connection with the audience is established, you know you have it.
why can't.why can't... why can't.... *silence*
you know how alot of stars who finally make it to fame seem to stop there and risk falling back down into oblivion? at that point in time, the only thing on their minds is whether they can keep their status- if they cannot, then it's a mad-rush that goes up or down. and if they can, then they'd think there's no point in working harder and moving on. but unless you really make it super huge to the point of being irreplaceable, you should know that you can never stay at the peak forever.
because the market is always changing, because others will always come up with something better, because we are always spoilt for choice.
so whatever that happens, don't just stop there.
well, yeah. there's always a limit to the amount of potential available. but for many, and especially for beloved w-inds., you guys definitely have much more stuff than what you're showing us now.
don't lose because the race is too long, lose only after you've given it all you've got.
and there's the chance of wining, isn't there?

the night's getting into me.
and then very suddenly, this girl came to my mind:
the very thought of tingxu way over at the other end of the globe remains quite astonishing.
it makes a difference when you've got a good friend all alone over there, striving to live her dreams without any thought of wasting a single second of her life.
and then you're right here, trying to make the most out of wasting your life away.
ouwwch i'm squinting to make out my dear friend over the distance.
for someone whom i've always regarded to be a role model... let's just say i have a looong way to catch up.
yeah man, you have to be stronger. dreams are made of hard work.

i'm sick with all the snsd-bashing. even an idiot can tell that snsd did a better performance than wg. maybe i should point to the so very obvious: sincerity. stop deluding yourselves with your anti-sentiments. GROW UP will ya.
