MUSIC EXPRESS 14 IS HERE!!!

Music Express is a nationwide music-writing competition organised by Nanyang Technological University, Chinese Society. it aims to be a platform for budding new songwriters to try their hand in music-writing and contribute more to the local music scene.

this may well be your first step towards the world of mandarin pop music.

since i'm totally aware of the kind of audience reach i have with my humble blog, i'm highlighting to you guys CATEGORY B: LYRIC WRITING.

you know how we sometimes feel the urge to let the world KNOW how we're feeling and what we're thinking, and nothing does it better than conveying it through music. right now, music express is providing an avenue for you to scream those words right out for everyone to hear.

let me not neglect Category A: Music Writing.

if you have always been interested in mandarin pop music, this competition offers you a chance to involve yourself in it from top to bottom. contestants have the chance to hear their songs published and sung by well-known celebrities, and that's your ticket to songwriting stardom (like jay chou you know?).

i'm not kidding. we have had plenty of contestants before, who do not have knowledge of any musical instrument at all. but it is easy to make music by just humming or just playing anyhow on the keyboard, and then getting your musically-inclined friends to write the score out or polish the song for you. wendy, our previous winner for Best Song, is a great example of this amazing feat. otherwise, you can approach VI Music (our collaborator), and they will offer you all the help you need to make your music.
